eBay Boxes Clever

Now here’s a neat thought and one which the courier services team at ANYVAN thinks we should all adopt. Think about the humble cardboard box which is used every time we move something. Boring eh? But how can we make it more interesting? Well, eBay have come up with a great idea.

It’s the new eBay box and it’s part of a pilot project designed to add a little spice and interest to the whole delivery sector.

But like most good ideas, it’s pretty simple.

The eBay Box is made from durable cardboard which can withstand repeated use. But the twist comes with a feature that allows the users to keep track of where the box has been. Inside there is a specially designated space which encourages each sender to write a personal message to the next person in the chain.

And the courier services team can’t wait to start adding their own messages, although when it comes to it, just what can you write on a cardboard box? Maybe name, rank and serial number would be a bit droll. How about giving the box a name and creating a life for it? It could provide little ditties on where it’s just been and what it thinks about life on the road.

Apparently the ‘box tales’ can be tracked through a virtual community, meaning that some creativity should be invested in the messages.

The first load of eBay Boxes will number 100,000. They are eco-iconic boxes and for the eBay trial which start next month, they come in three sizes and will be used by participants on the eBay Green Team. eBay are hoping that some of the tales will be worthy of the great Bard himself.

The scribes in the ANYVAN courier services team can’t wait. A box and a felt-tip pen; what more do you need in life?
